VIÑA ASSA VINEYARD

VARIETIES: 50% Tempranillo and 50% Graciano.

OUTPUT: 6,000 Kg/Ha. Varies greatly depending on the objectives.

SURFACE AREA: 22 Hectares.

LOCATION: In the municipality of Assa, to the south of Lanciego. Near the banks of the river Ebro and the Puente Mantible bridge.

ALTITUDE: 380 metres.

ASPECT: Mainly N-S.

FEATURES: Espalier trained vines. With drip irrigation. A large, very uniform vineyard which is well-exposed to the sunlight and has almost no incline.

YEAR PLANTED: 2001-2005.

CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences. Greatly influenced by the mesoclimate resulting from its proximity to the river Ebro. High relative humidity, good air circulation and exposure to the sunlight due to the large size of the plain on which it is situated.

WINEGROWING SOIL: Very characteristic alluvial soil due to the proximity of the river with a mainly clayey texture and a high pebble content throughout the soil horizon, not so much on the surface. Deep, fertile soil in which the roots can develop easily and the vines can enjoy strong growth.
