VALLEHUSO VINEYARD
EXCEPTIONAL VINEYARD - FUNDACIÓN MAGA
VARIETIES: Tempranillo 75% and Garnacha Tinta 25%.
OUTPUT: 2,500 Kg/Ha.
SURFACE AREA: 2.7 Hectares.
LOCATION: To the south of Elciego, on the banks of the river Ebro in La Rioja.
ALTITUDE: 400 metres.
ASPECT: NE–SW.
FEATURES: Old vines pruned into a goblet shape, with a high percentage of missing vines and a very irregular planting pattern. A single, very uniform vineyard that is completely flat and has sufficient exposure to the light.
YEAR PLANTED: 1944.
CLIMATE: Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences. Strongly influenced by the mesoclimate created by its proximity to the river Ebro. Very high relative humidity, heavy dews in the early morning and a high apparent temperature given the low levels of aeration.
WINEGROWING SOIL: With a very pronounced sandy texture. Deep soil with an average nutritional content and a high capacity for water infiltration although not for retention. The age of the vines means that they have a deep root system. Some vines that predate the phylloxera blight still survive thanks to the sandy nature of the soil.

Alluvial wine which matures quickly in a well-balanced way. Very fine, pronounced fruitiness. Medium structure. Balanced acidity and freshness in the mouth.
